Sam started playing golf at the age of nine and was introduced to the game by his father Peter, a former pro himself. Sam competed in junior and amateur tournaments. His home course was Moor Park where he represented the club, county and country. For Sam it was obvious to become a pro and he spent much of his teenage years practicing and playing to fulfil that dream. At the age of 22 he turned professional and soon after that became a member of European Challenge tour and winning two events between 2000 and 2004. He has finished second twice on the European tour and finishing his season 2011 on the challenge tour by winning three tournaments in five weeks Russia, France and Rome.

From 2004 Sam earned his playing rights on the European Tour with a full card and maintained those playing rights for the following six years.
Sam is a passionate family man with wife, Maria and three children Zach and twin girls Nathalie and Emilia. When Sam isn't touring you will most likely find him spending time with his family or being at the practice range.
Being a sociable guy Sam takes great pride in entertaining his sponsors and partners whom help him fulfil his career dream.
